[dusts off the old newsletter that I did forget about during my ~seasonal depression~] because the Ruthless Gods paperback is out today so I figure I should use this newsletter for… that. You can order it here! It is, admittedly, my favorite book of the trilogy but middle books in trilogies always are. It is weird and a little meander-y and just chock full of cosmic horror and teens realizing their actions have consequences (well.) The paperback has a few bonus scenes with kissing because after that ending it’s either a twisting of the knife or an apology, I’m not sure which.
I’m not going to do a full play by play of my playlists because these are: long, but I will offer to you the Ruthless Gods and, as a treat, Blessed Monsters playlists.
From Ruthless Gods, the most apt song was Yekteniya I: Oschishcheniye by Batushka
extremely funny: this band using Orthodox imagery experienced a schism, also.
and for Blessed Monsters I swear I drafted the entire book to this song alone:
Celestial Violence by Ihsahn feat. Einar Solberg
This song was on an earlier newsletter but also I really only listen to it, so. I’m going to write another newsletter with a playlist of what I have been listening to soon! I’m just revising a book that is proving to be extremely challenging (I cannot wait until I can talk about it. I am so excited for it), and also I am simply losing my mind as Blessed Monsters is out next month. And also it was February, the worst month, and now it is March, again, even though it neve stopped being March last year. It is always March. It will always be March.
I’ll have virtual tour and preorder campaign info and all that fun kind of nonsense soon, I promise!
What I’m reading:
Homeland by R.A. Salvatore
Fragile Remedy by Maria Ingrande Mora (also! come hang out with us on March 12th!)
Other books that came out today:
Down Comes the Night by Allison Saft
The Bright and the Pale by Jessica Rubinowski
